The main materials provided by DGS are volcanic Tuff in all sizes, and Zeolitic Tuff in its raw form, or after processed and activated according to the customer’s request and the type of use.
Volcanic tuff and zeolitic volcanic tuff are widely used in the agricultural field due to the many benefits and advantages it gives to the soil (soil reclamation) and to plants and their agricultural products, as the water absorption and loss feature make it absorb excess water from the soil to give it to the plant when it needs it.
This process helps plants to adapt with the dry and wet environment as it maintains the level of moisture in the soil. Accordingly, it helps the soil to retain moisture, spacing between irrigation periods, reduces water consumption in irrigation up to about 40% or more and prevents soil cracking and hardening, as well as retaining any fertilizers that have been added to the soil and reducing the percentage of its loss in layers, so plants can benefit as much as possible and for a long time, especially because the Zeolitic Tuff remains for a long time.
Volcanic tuff is characterized by its ability to retain water within its pores for a long time, and it contains some minerals that benefit plants, as it is frequently used in agricultural soil reclamation to prevent cracking and hardening and works to increase soil ventilation and retain water to re-grant it to the plant, which saves up to 40% of the water which required in irrigation, and it is considered as a good and safe alternative to plastic mulch or the plastic cover which used to cover the plant to conserve water and to prevent the growth of the harmful plants, which causes some environmental problems for plants, animals, and humans, especially because it is difficult to get rid of it, while Volcanic tuff is a natural and environmentally friendly mineral.
As for zeolite, it has several advantages, whether for the soil or for plants. In addition to the advantages of the volcanic Tuff mentioned above, it also has the ability to exchange ions (ion exchange), it stabilizes the ammonia in the soil and enriches it with nitrogen. It is a slow-degrading fertilizer that does not dissolve in water like other chemical fertilizers used, and as a result, it reduces soil salinity, prevents groundwater pollution, reduces the number of fertilizing times, and reduces material costs. In addition, zeolite contains essential and secondary nutrients necessary for the plant, such as potassium, nitrogen, phosphorous, magnesium, calcium, iron, …. etc . This leads to an improvement in the type and size of fruits, increases the productivity of the crops and It reduces the number of failed seedlings
2- Animal Husbandry
DGS provides among its products some natural materials concerned with the animal field (cows and livestock, birds and poultry, fish) in terms of taking care of them and improving their production. And one of the most important materials is (zeolite).
The two main properties that qualified zeolite for use in animal shops are:
- the ability to absorb
- the ion exchange without affecting its crystalline structure.
In terms of feed and food, zeolite is added in a certain proportion with animal feed as an adhesive that binds food components, and a propellant for growth, and reduces the toxicity of some substances that are found in food such as pesticides and toxins of some fungi such as aflatoxin, and preserves these feeds from spoilage for a long time, and this gives animals better health, reduces the use of medicines and reduces their mortality rates. In terms of production, it is having a positive effect by improving the quality of animal products and increasing their quantities.
zeolite is also used in animal bedding, barn poultry, and horse stables to get rid of unpleasant odors emitted and to absorb liquids and waste, as it absorbs gases such as ammonia and hydrogen sulfide. It absorbs ammonia four times more than the clay materials and controls the ammonia gas and moisture, and it is used as an absorbent of odors in the homes of pets (cats and dogs). About its uses in fish farms and aquariums, zeolite adjusts the alkalinity of water and pH and removes toxic ammonia (ammonia) resulting from fish waste and prevents fish from several diseases such as inflammation of the gills, retardation of growth, brain damage and sterility, it is also considered a natural alternative to remove excess turbidity from the aquariums water and by reducing the high concentrations of hydrogen sulfide and nitrite gas, and accordingly, it is an important material in this field, improving the fish quality and maintaining its health, and reducing its mortality, which reflects positively on the product and reduces the costs that used in fish caring and raise its revenue.
3- Filtration (Water Purification)
DGS provides among its products, natural materials concerned with the field of purifying water and wastewater -(house waste)- from ammonia and radioactive elements such as cesium and radioactive strontium.
One of the most important materials provided by DGS is zeolite, which is used in the purification of domestic wastewater and in the purification of industrial water laden with toxic elements and even radioactive elements.
The anion exchange property of zeolite gives it great importance in the water desalination process, as it removes nickel ions, lead, carbon and ammonium, and absorbs lost electrolytes, and uncontrollable. Zeolite is a renewable material that can be used many times, it is an ideal solution with a low cost compared with other materials, and most important of all, it is a natural product that has no side effects on the environment, It can be used in the purification of drinking water, water tanks, in the purification of swimming pools, water desalination plant sand in waste water purification plants and factories, and it is widely used in this field in several countries such as the United States of America and Italy, and it is worth noting that about 1.5 million tons of zeolite were used previously in the Chernobyl reactor disaster in 1986 to control the lost atomic electrodes.
4- Industry

The most important industries that has The Volcanic Tuff is the manufacture of Portland cement and lightweight insulating pozzolanic bricks and tiles. It is also used as an alternative to other building materials due to its structure and specifications, such as the strength required for construction, the pores, and the lightness of weight that reduces the load on the building and gives the property of heat insulation.
As for Zeolitic Tuff, it is used in a Cement Filler product and many industrial matters including the purification of industrial water laden with toxic elements and air purification from unpleasant odors and toxic elements. It removes nickel ions, lead, carbon and ammonium, and absorbs lost and uncontrolled electrolytes, Such as Leather factories, dyes, electroplating, batteries, etc… It is also used in the rubber, paper, plastic, oil refining industry as an intermediary (molecular refinery) and other industries.
